Good intentions turned tragic late in the evening on I-880.

The first in a string of accidents occurred when a car was rear-ended near the Floresta BLVD overpass severely damaging both vehicles. While these cars where stationary alongside the road, they were struck by another vehicle from behind causing one car to overturn.

A man noticed the pileup of cars and pulled over to help.

While assisting the victims, the good samaritan was struck by yet another passing vehicle. He was found dead at the scene.

The other passengers involved sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals. There’s an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

San Jose has experienced a string of deadly traffic accidents over the last month, including two separate crashes that resulted in the deaths of young girls.

Victims have rights

It can months, or even years, to get back to normal after a serious car accident. Victims may be left with debilitating injuries, mental trauma, medical debt, and job loss. The strain on both the victim, and their family, can be incredible.

Thankfully, those who sustain injuries because of negligence or wrongdoing have rights under the law. A successful car accident lawsuit may result in a considerable financial award.

Car accident lawsuits require extensive investigation and discovery, it’s important to meet with an attorney as soon as possible to discuss your case. Furthermore, California imposes a two-year statue of limitations on person injury lawsuits. Waiting too long to file could mean permanently forfeiting your right to legal recourse.
